Foundation Facts
Every year, we are excited and grateful to highlight our most important work. Throughout 2021, Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation made significant strides toward connecting and healing lives. The information below reflects how the generosity of our donors has driven our success in the past year.

Baptist Heart Institute Fund
Baptist Foundation provided four additional extra corporeal membrane, or ECMO, devices for the care and treatment of COVID-19 patients in the ICU. These devices saved the lives of countless patients at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, the only hospital the only area to offer ECMO treatment for COVID-19 during the pandemic's peak.

Friends of Nursing
Friends of Nursing is funded by employees, grateful patients and memorial gifts to provide financial assistance, continuing education and professional development opportunities to Baptist’s nurses. Last year the fund helped 65 nurses attend important nursing education conferences, workshops and review courses.
The fund also helped offset the cost of receiving professional certifications for nurses around the system, to help them expand their knowledge and capabilities, and enhance their career opportunities.

Baptist Centers for Good Grief
The Centers for Good Grief provided more than 6,900 counseling sessions through Baptist’s grief centers in Collierville and Memphis, TN and Jonesboro, AR.

Baptist Reynolds Hospice House
The Reynolds Hospice House served 211 patients and families when care and love were needed most. Since opening in 2010, the Hospice House has been the final home for more than 2,681 patients.

Employee Emergency Assistance Fund
More than $24,000 was distributed to assist 285 Baptist team members at various entities throughout the system in 2021.

Patient Assistance
We assisted nearly 250 discharged patients who needed financial assistance for medicines, home medical devices, transportation and other necessities after returning home from the hospital.

Baptist Health Sciences University
The University awarded more than 240 scholarships were awarded to students in various degrees of study.
